Anne Nayoung Kim, Flute

Biography

Anne Nayoung Kim has appeared as soloist, orchestral player, Chamber musician and Flute technician. She played on major stages, Stern Auditorium, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall at Kaufman Center in New York and Seoul Arts Center and Seoung-nam Arts Center and other stages in Korea.

 As principal flute under the baton of David Alan Miller, at the 2017 National Orchestral Institute, she recorded John Harbison’s Symphony No.4. The recording, in partnership with the NAXOS label, became part of the American Classics album and was nominated as “Best Orchestral Performance” for the 2018 GRAMMY awards. 

She received her undergraduate degree from Yonsei University under Juwon Kim and her Mater degree from Manhattan School of Music under the Professor Michael Parloff. She won a numerous competitions, such as American Protege International Competition, The Music Journal Competition, The Seoul Flute Competition, Yonsei University and Suwon University Competition. 

Until recently, she worked at Powell Flutes as a Flute Finisher and she continues to work as a Flute technician and musical journey.
