Junghee Lee is a distinguished violinist known for her exceptional achievements as a prominent soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber performer. Born in Seoul, Korea, Ms. Lee’s musical journey began with a Bachelor of Music degree from Yonsei University, followed by a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School. She furthered her musical education with a Doctor of Musical Arts from Rutgers University and earned an Artist Diploma from the San Francisco Academy Orchestra.

Ms. Lee’s artistry has graced some of the world’s most distinguished venues. She held her debut recital at Carnegie Weill Hall. Her Austrian debut with the Vienna International Orchestra further solidified her reputation as a virtuoso of international acclaim. In the 2014-2015 season, Ms. Lee was selected as one of five apprentices for the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa under the mentorship of the illustrious Pinchas Zukerman, a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication, further supported by a full scholarship.

Throughout her musical journey, Ms. Lee has had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of esteemed mentors, including Hyo Kang, Dong-Suk Kang, Ko-Woon Yang, Sung-Won Yun, Dan Carlson, and Catherine Van Hoesen. Her dedication to continuous growth and musical excellence led her to further studies with luminaries such as Cho-Liang Lin and Masao Kawasaki at the Aspen Music Festival, as well as Zakhar Bron at the Lisbon Music Festival.

Currently, Ms. Lee serves as a substitute violinist for the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, and tenure member of both the California Symphony and the Oakland Symphony. Her commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians is evident through her role as an educator, where she imparts her knowledge and passion to students in the Bay Area.
