Minju Jeong, Soprano

Biography

Minju Jeong, a Korean Lyric Coloratura Soprano, graduated from Seoul National University of bachelor’s degree in vocal performance. Then she went to the U.S. and graduated from Mannes School of Music (of The New School) in New York.

​She has continued her academic career by completing a master class hosted by Hochschule fur Musik from Master Cheryl Studer and diplomed a ‘L’arte del belcanto ‘from Master Luciana Serra. 
After graduating from Seoul National University, she performed as the main soloist of the opera gala concert team hosted by the Seoul National Opera Theater in South Korea for two years.
 

Leaving for the United States, she made her debut as The Queen of the Night from the opera The magic flute at the Steamboat Theatre in Denver, Colorado in 2021 and continued her career as Lyric Coloratura soprano the following year, playing Queen of the Night at the Chicago Summer Opera. she performed as Mme. Pompeuse from the Operetta ‘By Georges!’ with Lamplighters Opera Theatre in San Francisco 2023. Recently She debuted as Phyllis from the Opera Iolanthe with San Jose Lyric Theatre in San Jose.
